Who are we?

Today, Shift + Alt Events is recognized as one of the top bespoke event planning companies in the world, specializing in high-end corporate and private events.

Our clients include global corporations, nonprofit organizations, venture capital firms, and high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.

We operate from offices in San Francisco and London, while producing events across the globe. Our work spans intimate six-person dinner parties through to large-scale summits of up to 23,000 guests, with budgets ranging from 20,000 to over 7 million.

CEO & Founder

Shift + Alt Events was founded by Vivienne Errington-Barnes, CEO and Founder, whose career uniquely bridges the worlds of global finance, technology, and design-led experiences. The first decade of Vivienne’s professional life was spent in London, leading large-scale Change Functions for major investment banks through project and programme management roles. Operating in highly risk-averse, process-driven environments instilled an exceptional level of rigor, foresight, and operational discipline. These foundations continue to define Shift + Alt Events’ approach today, setting an unusually high bar for precision, governance, and execution within the events industry.

The following decade took Vivienne to San Francisco, where she held C-level and executive leadership roles at high-growth technology companies, culminating in her role as Chief of Staff at Calm. Immersion in the tech ecosystem sharpened a deep understanding of taste, quality, and brand experience at the highest level. It also shaped a modern, client-centric perspective on how experiences should feel, not just how they should function. This combination of institutional rigor and Silicon Valley sensibility is rare in the field of event management and has become the cornerstone of Shift + Alt Events.
